Best Shimla Tour Packages Curated By Experts
Shimla tour packages work well for first time hill travellers, families, couples, and small groups who want a comfortable Himalayan trip without long, tiring drives. Most of our trips run from about two to five nights on the ground, and the shorter ones are built to fit a long weekend.
You can start from Delhi or Chandigarh. From Delhi, an overnight AC Volvo is the popular choice, while Chandigarh sits closest to the hills and suits travellers who prefer a shorter road day. A private cab is available on every route when you want to travel at your own pace.
Each package pairs a comfortable stay with sightseeing planned around realistic travel time, so you spend time in places rather than in the car. Current per person prices and seasonal offers are shown on each package card above, and the final amount is always confirmed before you pay.
Every trip can be customised for your dates, group size, and hotel preference. We are based in Shimla, so the routes, stays, and seasonal advice here come from a team that lives and drives on these roads.
The right Shimla package depends on three things: who is travelling, how many days you have, and whether you prefer a Volvo or a private cab. The short guides below match each type of traveller to an option already on this page.
A family trip is easiest with short drives, comfortable hotels, and a relaxed pace, which is how our five to six day itineraries are built. A private cab usually suits families best, since you decide the timing and the breaks.
Good fit: the Classic Shimla, Kufri, Mashobra and Narkanda itinerary for a full, easy trip. For a shorter break, see our Shimla family tour packages.
Couples usually want privacy, a scenic stay, and a slower rhythm rather than a packed list. Three to four nights on the ground, with a private cab and a well located hotel, is the sweet spot.
Good fit: our Shimla honeymoon packages, with private transfers, couple friendly stays, and flexible sightseeing.
With a long weekend from Delhi, an overnight Volvo lets you leave after work, spend two nights in Shimla, and return without burning extra leave. The pace stays light, covering the town, Kufri, and a countryside loop.
Good fit: the Weekend Shimla Escape from Delhi, built for exactly this.
For snow, plan between late December and February, when the higher points around Kufri and Narkanda are most likely to have snow on the ground. Fresh snowfall is weather and cannot be promised for a fixed date, so a little date flexibility helps.
Good fit: the Naldehra, Kufri and Narkanda snow valley escape, or the longer Kufri, Chail and Narkanda snow trip, both planned for the winter window.
The most economical way to see Shimla is a Volvo based trip, since a coach seat costs far less than a private vehicle all the way from the plains. You still get a private cab for local sightseeing after you arrive.
Good fit: the Weekend Shimla Escape and the Naldehra snow valley escape are the friendliest on price. Current offers are shown on the cards above.
If comfort matters more than the lowest price, a premium trip pairs selected higher category hotels with a private cab and a more relaxed pace, sometimes with an early Hatu Peak sunrise near Narkanda.
Good fit: the Mashobra, Kufri and Narkanda itinerary with the Hatu Peak sunrise is the premium pick on this page.
A Volvo package means a reserved seat on an AC semi sleeper coach from Delhi to Shimla and back, usually overnight, with a private cab for your sightseeing once you arrive. It keeps the cost down and gets you to the hills rested.
Most of our Shimla trips run on this Volvo and private cab model by default.
A private cab package gives you a vehicle used only by your group, from pick up to drop, which suits families, couples, and anyone visiting more than one place. You control the timing and the halts, and keep your luggage with you throughout.
Any itinerary here can be arranged as a full private cab trip from Delhi or Chandigarh on request.
Two nights in Shimla is enough for the town and Kufri, while three to four nights lets you add Mashobra, Naldehra, Chail, or Narkanda without rushing. One thing worth knowing: our package day counts include the overnight Volvo journeys, so a five day, four night trip usually means about two nights actually in Shimla.
Two nights on the ground covers the town core and one countryside day. You can walk the Ridge and Mall Road, visit Christ Church and Jakhu, and spend a day around Kufri, Green Valley, and Fagu. It is a comfortable short trip and works well by overnight Volvo. We can plan a two night stay on a custom basis.
A third night lets you add Mashobra and Naldehra, or simply slow the pace so nothing feels squeezed. It suits families and couples who would rather not face an early start every morning.
With four nights you can bring in Chail or Narkanda properly, rather than as a rushed detour, and the Hatu Peak sunrise near Narkanda fits comfortably. Several of our six day itineraries sit here once you set aside the two Volvo nights.
Five nights is for a relaxed, wider trip that combines the town, Kufri, Chail, and Narkanda, or begins a longer route toward Manali or Kinnaur. Adding Manali, the full Kalka to Shimla toy train experience, or the deeper Kinnaur road needs this kind of time, not a day trip.
Because most ready packages count the Volvo nights, tell us how many nights you want in Shimla itself and we will match a package or plan a custom one.
Most travellers reach Shimla by overnight Volvo or private cab from Delhi, by a shorter cab ride from Chandigarh, or by train to Kalka followed by the toy train. Here is who each option suits.
Overnight Volvo from Delhi. An AC semi sleeper coach leaves Delhi in the evening and reaches Shimla by morning, so you travel while you sleep and save a day. It is the budget friendly choice and suits couples, friends, and families comfortable with an overnight bus, with a private cab for sightseeing after arrival.
Private cab from Delhi. A private cab picks you up from home and drives up through Chandigarh, Solan, and the hills, roughly eight to ten hours. It suits families with young children or elderly members who want their own vehicle, breaks when needed, and no boarding point to find.
Private cab from Chandigarh. Chandigarh sits closest to Shimla, about three to four hours by road, so this is the easiest option for anyone flying into Chandigarh or wanting a short road day. It is kind on senior citizens and small children.
Train to Kalka and the toy train. You can take a train to Kalka and then the narrow gauge Kalka to Shimla toy train, a gentle heritage ride through tunnels and pine forest. It is a lovely, family friendly way to arrive, though it is slower and needs early ticket planning. Our Kalka to Shimla toy train guide covers the practical details.
Flight to Chandigarh and a road transfer. Travellers from far cities usually fly into Chandigarh and continue by road. Shimla's own Jubbarhatti airport has very limited flights, so Chandigarh is the practical gateway.
We can build any of these into your trip end to end, or pick you up once you reach the hills if you prefer to book your own flights or train. Bus timings, train availability, and fares change often, so we confirm current options when we plan your dates.
A standard Shimla package covers the town core and Kufri, with Mashobra, Naldehra, Chail, and Narkanda as popular additions on longer trips. Not every place sits in every package, so use the groups below as a guide.
The town circuit is on almost every trip: The Ridge, Mall Road, Christ Church, Scandal Point, and Lakkar Bazaar, all explored on foot. Jakhu Temple is usually included by road or ropeway, and a Kufri day with the Green Valley viewpoint and Fagu is standard.
On slightly longer trips, travellers add Mashobra and Naldehra for quiet deodar forests and open ridge views, Summer Hill, and the Viceregal Lodge for its history and gardens. Tara Devi Temple can be added when time allows.
Chail, with its palace and high cricket ground, and Narkanda, with the Hatu Peak sunrise, sit further out and are best given their own day, which is why they appear on our six and seven day itineraries. The full Kalka to Shimla toy train experience also needs planning around, rather than being squeezed into a packed day.
March to June is the most comfortable time for a first family trip, September to November is best for clear and quiet travel, and late December to February is the season for a chance of snow. Here is a season by season view.
These are the pleasant, popular months, with cool days and cold nights, and they suit first time family travellers and couples. May and June are peak holiday season, so hotels fill and prices rise. Book early if you are travelling then.
The monsoon brings rain, green hills, and fewer crowds, along with the chance of delays and the occasional landslip on mountain roads. If you travel in this window, keep a flexible plan and a day in hand, and let us adjust the route if conditions change.
As the rain eases, the air clears and the crowds thin, which makes this the quietest and one of the prettiest times to visit. Nights turn cold from late October. It suits couples, photographers, and anyone who prefers calm over a busy season.
This is the cold, festive season and the best chance of snow at the higher points around Kufri and Narkanda, with peak pricing around Christmas and New Year. Snowfall depends entirely on the weather and cannot be guaranteed for a particular date. Roads can slow during active snowfall, so plans need to stay flexible.
The cost of a Shimla package depends on your duration, hotel category, transport choice, travel dates, and the number of travellers, so the same trip can be priced very differently. Current per person prices for each itinerary are shown on the cards above, and the final amount is confirmed before you pay.
The main things that move your Shimla trip cost:
As a general guide, our Shimla packages cover return AC Volvo or a private cab as chosen, hotel stays for the listed nights, daily breakfast and dinner, a private cab for local sightseeing where vehicle access allows, and on trip coordination. Taxes are included in the price shown.
Flights and train tickets, lunches and personal expenses, ropeway and entry tickets, activities such as pony rides and snow gear at Kufri, and room heater charges where a hotel bills them separately usually sit outside the package. The exact inclusions for each itinerary are listed on its own package page, and your booking confirmation is the final word.
Where you stay in Shimla depends on the kind of trip you want, from a lively base near Mall Road to a quiet stay in Mashobra or Naldehra. Here is how the main areas compare.
Near Mall Road. Staying close to Mall Road and the Ridge puts cafes, shops, and evening walks at your doorstep, which suits travellers who want to be in the middle of things. Even here, reaching the hotel can involve steps, a lift, or a short walk, because this is a no vehicle zone.
Central Shimla with vehicle access. Some central hotels sit where a vehicle can reach closer to the door, which helps if you have heavy luggage or want to avoid a climb. It is a practical middle ground for families.
Mashobra and Naldehra. A short drive from town, these greener, quieter areas suit couples, honeymooners, and anyone wanting forest and open views over a busy market. You trade a little convenience for calm.
Kufri. Staying near Kufri puts you close to the snow points and alpine views, which some winter travellers prefer, though it is further from the town buzz.
Quieter scenic outskirts. Stays outside the main town give silence and mountain views, and suit travellers who want to slow right down. They usually mean a drive into town for sightseeing and dinner.
A note on access. Many Shimla hotels sit above or below Cart Road, so even a central stay can need a short walk up steps or a public lift. Families with babies and senior citizens should tell us if easy access matters, and we will plan the stay around it. We share exact hotel names and room categories before your booking is confirmed, so you know where you are staying before you pay.
Shimla pairs naturally with Kufri and the nearby countryside on a short trip, and with Chail, Narkanda, Manali, or Kinnaur when you have more days. Below is the minimum sensible time for each, and who it suits.
Shimla with Kufri. The most common pairing, easily done in two nights. Kufri adds alpine views and, in winter, snow, and it suits every kind of traveller.
Shimla with Mashobra and Naldehra. Add a night, around three on the ground, for these quiet forest and ridge areas. It suits couples and travellers who want calm alongside the town.
Shimla with Chail. Chail's palace and hilltop cricket ground sit further out, so give this at least three to four nights. It suits families and history lovers.
Shimla with Narkanda. Narkanda and the Hatu Peak sunrise are a longer run, best on a five or six day trip. It suits travellers who want apple country and open mountain views. You can see the road out in our guide to the stops beyond Shimla.
Shimla with Manali. Two contrasting hill stations in one trip, and one of our most requested combinations. Plan six to seven days so the drive between them does not eat your sightseeing. This is not a day trip. See the Shimla Manali Volvo package or the private cab version, and the wider Manali tour packages.
Shimla with Kinnaur. For travellers ready to go higher into apple country, Kinnaur begins on the Shimla side and needs five days or more. It suits road trip lovers. Start with our Shimla to Kinnaur packages.
We are based in Shimla, so the routes, stays, and seasonal advice on this page come from a team that lives and drives here, not from a distant office. Here is what that changes, and what happens after you enquire.
We walk the same Mall Road, know which stays are genuinely good, and understand how the roads to Kufri, Chail, and Narkanda behave in each season. That local knowledge goes into every itinerary.
We plan around weather, road access, daylight, and honest driving times, so the schedule holds together rather than looking good only on paper.
We choose hotels and vehicles we can stand behind, and we tell you the hotel names and room categories before you confirm.
Every trip can be shaped around your dates, group, and budget, and you have a real person to call while you travel if something changes on the ground.
You share your dates, group size, and preferences. We suggest a suitable package, check hotel and transport availability for your dates, and send you a customised quotation. Nothing is confirmed until you are happy with the plan and the price. You can read traveller reviews or learn how we work.
A few honest, evergreen tips make a Shimla trip smoother, especially around walking, winter hotels, and Kufri activities.
Shimla is built on slopes, so expect walking and some climbs, even around your hotel. Mall Road and the Ridge are no vehicle zones, and your cab drops you at the nearest allowed point, with a public lift near Cart Road for a small charge.
In winter, check how a hotel is heated, since not every property has central heating and some charge for room heaters. Carry warm layers rather than relying on one heavy jacket, so you can adjust through the day.
Activities at Kufri, such as pony rides to Mahasu Peak, snow gear, and yak photos, are run by local operators and cost extra, so agree the rate clearly before you start. Vehicles stop short of the peak, so plan for a pony ride or a short uphill walk.
If the Kalka to Shimla toy train matters to you, plan tickets early, as popular services fill quickly. Peak weekends and the New Year period bring traffic and crowds, so start your days a little earlier.
During the monsoon, keep the route flexible and a day in hand. Families with babies or senior citizens should prioritise an easy access hotel, and everyone should carry comfortable, non slip footwear for the slopes.
Beyond the usual circuit, Shimla district has quiet, high valleys that work as specialised extensions or separate offbeat trips, rather than stops on a standard Shimla package.
Areas like Rohru, the Pabbar Valley, Chanshal Pass, Dodra Kwar, Larot, Hatkoti, Kharapathar, and Saru Lake sit deeper in the district, with longer drives and simpler stays. They suit travellers who want forest, river, and very few crowds over a checklist.
These need their own time and planning, not a squeeze into a town based trip. To go deeper, see our offbeat Shimla packages, our guide to offbeat places near Shimla, and the route to Chanshal Pass and the Pabbar Valley.
You do not need the whole route worked out before you talk to us. Share your travel month, number of travellers, days in hand, departure city, and hotel preference, and our Shimla team will suggest a package that fits your time and pace, or plan a custom one.
We will be honest about what works for your dates, and just as honest about what does not, so you can choose your Shimla tour package with a clear picture.

These top places are just where stories unfold. And the most striking part is that you don't simply visit them, but experience them.

Annandale is a flat, tree lined ground within Shimla, about 3 km downhill from the Ridge. Managed by the Indian Army, it houses the Army Heritage Museum (established 2006), a cactus museum, a 9 hole golf course (Army only), and a helipad. The museum covers military history from ancient weapons to the 1971 Pakistan surrender letter, plus a VR shooting experience. Free entry with valid government ID. Closed Mondays. One to two hours.

Summer Hill is a forested residential hill on the western side of Shimla, about 5 km from the Ridge and roughly 2,100 metres above sea level. One of the seven hills that make up Shimla, it is covered in oak, deodar, and pine, with the Himachal Pradesh University campus and old colonial bungalows on its slopes. Take the UNESCO toy train to Summer Hill station (the last halt before Shimla), walk uphill through the forest to the Viceregal Lodge, then walk back to town through the trees. Half a day, no crowds, no entry fee.

Green Valley is a roadside viewpoint on NH 5 between Shimla and Kufri, about 8 km from Shimla centre. You pull over, look out over deodar and pine forest covering the slopes below, take photographs, grab chai from the stalls, and drive on. Fifteen to thirty minutes is all it needs. No entry fee. The forest is part of the protected Shimla Water Catchment Wildlife Sanctuary, so you view from the road, not from inside. Not a standalone destination, but a genuinely good stop on the Kufri drive.

Fagu is a small farming village on the Hindustan Tibet road, about 18 km from Shimla and roughly 6 km past Kufri, sitting at around 2,500 metres on a ridge above the Giri Valley. Apple orchards, terraced fields, and wide valley views are the entire draw. There are no tourist attractions in the traditional sense. Most travellers stop for an hour or two on the way to Narkanda, or drive out from Shimla for a snow day in winter. It also works as a peaceful overnight base away from Shimla's crowds.

Tattapani sits on the Sutlej, about 40 to 55 km from Shimla via Sunni, known for sulphur hot springs. The original riverbed springs were submerged by the Kol Dam (2015), but hot water is now accessed through bore well pools and hotel facilities. Natural riverbank dips re-emerge in winter. The water is traditionally believed to soothe joint stiffness and skin irritation. Rafting on the Chabba to Tattapani stretch and Shiva Cave at Saraur are the other draws.

Mashobra is what Shimla would feel like if you removed the crowds, the traffic, and the noise. About 12 km from Shimla on the Hindustan Tibet road, at around 2,150 metres, it sits inside the Shimla Water Catchment Wildlife Sanctuary surrounded by dense oak, pine, and deodar forest. There are no big sights. The draw is clean air, forest walks, apple orchards, and the kind of quiet that only comes from staying in a place most tourists skip. Two to three nights as a base works best.

Naldehra is a small ridge settlement about 22 km from Shimla, known almost entirely for its golf course, one of the oldest in India, established around 1905 by Lord Curzon. At about 2,200 metres, surrounded by old growth deodar cedar, it is a pleasant stop on the Shimla area circuit. Non golfers come for pony rides along forest trails on the outer perimeter, ridge views, and the quiet. The golf course itself is managed by HPTDC and the Naldehra Golf Club, with entry restricted to those paying green fees. Most visitors spend two to three hours here.

Viceregal Lodge is the most historically significant building in Shimla. Built between 1884 and 1888 on Observatory Hill as the British Viceroy's summer residence, it hosted the 1945 Shimla Conference and 1946 Cabinet Mission. Since 1965, it houses the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS). Visitors come for guided tours of preserved rooms, Jacobethan architecture, and large landscaped gardens. Most people spend 1.5 to 2 hours here. Closed on Mondays.

Christ Church is the second oldest church in North India and the most photographed building in Shimla. Built between 1844 and 1857 in neo-Gothic style by Colonel J.T. Boileau, it stands at the eastern end of The Ridge at about 2,200 metres. Entry is free. Five stained glass windows and a pipe organ from 1899 draw visitors inside. Photography in the sanctuary is not allowed, but the floodlit exterior at night is the classic Shimla shot. Most visitors spend 15 to 30 minutes here as part of a Ridge and Mall Road walk.

Kufri is a small hill station about 16 to 20 km from Shimla on the Hindustan Tibet Road, sitting at roughly 2,600 to 2,700 metres. It is higher, colder, and gets more reliable snow than Shimla itself. Most visitors come for a half day trip from Shimla to ride ponies, visit the Himalayan Nature Park, or play in the snow during winter. It is the standard Shimla day outing, and how much you enjoy it depends almost entirely on whether you dodge the touts and go at the right time.

Jakhu Temple is an ancient Hanuman temple on Jakhu Hill, Shimla's highest point at about 2,455 metres. The 108 foot (33 metre) Hanuman statue, completed in 2010, is visible from across the city and is Shimla's most recognisable landmark. Reach the temple by walking 2.5 km uphill from The Ridge, taking the ropeway, or by taxi. The view from the top is the widest panorama in Shimla.

Mall Road is Shimla's main pedestrian street, running through the centre of the city a level below The Ridge. Built during British colonial rule, it connects at Scandal Point, passes the Gaiety Theatre (1887) and the Town Hall (1908), and is lined with shops, cafes, and bakeries. Strictly pedestrian, with exceptions only for emergency vehicles and government vehicles holding sealed road permits. Free to walk, open round the clock, and the axis of every Shimla trip. Shops and cafes generally open by 9 to 10 AM and wind down by 9 to 10 PM.
Shimla’s charm lies in its slow pace and timeless simplicity. Here are a few must-have experiences we recommend to everyone who visits.

Undoubtedly one of the most picturesque train rides in India. With over a hundred tunnels along with scenic heritage stations, as well as pine forests, Shimla does not lack beauty. It’s not much of a race to the finish line, but that gives you the chance to drink in the beautiful views.

The culinary expertise and culture Shimla has to offer are exquisite. Bun Maska, hot chocolate, Himachali platters, and more, Shimla brims with cozy cafes serving mouth-watering delicacies. All of these cafes and platters are especially suited for travelers on their own and couples.

If you're visiting in the winter months, from December to February, fresh snow is almost guaranteed in Kufri. What to do? Slide down the slopes, yak rides, snowball fights or just feel like a kid again. It is extremely simple, yet lots of fun, and without a doubt, will be memorable for children and families.

Driving to Tara Devi from Jakhoo temple offers unbelievable peace and stunning panoramic views of all the hills. These are popular places to spend quiet mornings or consider thoughts in the evening.

An oak forest, alongside apple orchards and walking trails that tangle with nowhere to meet another. Just beyond Shimla, these are tranquil areas that recline and exhale in. Great for anyone wanting to unplug.

Visit Shimla’s colonial-era architecture, historical post offices, and stone walls that depict Shimla’s history during the British era. Bring a camera, but more importantly, keep an eye out for small, intricate details hidden all over town.

“Travel Coffee truly went above and beyond. Even though we booked from Indonesia without meeting them, we always felt secure — their team was available 24/7 and took care of every detail. Shubham personally ensured our comfort throughout the Himachal trip, from hotel checks to small gestures like bringing lotion and altitude pills. Their sincerity and local expertise made the journey unforgettable.”

The cost depends on your duration, hotel category, transport, travel dates, and group size, so there is no single price. Current per person prices for each itinerary are shown on the package cards above, from budget Volvo trips to premium private cab tours. Peak dates and long weekends carry higher rates. Share your dates, traveller count, room needs, and hotel preference, and we will quote your exact trip before you pay.
Two nights in Shimla is enough for the town and Kufri, while three to four nights lets you add Mashobra, Naldehra, Chail, or Narkanda comfortably. Remember that our package day counts include the overnight Volvo journeys, so a five day trip usually means about two nights in Shimla itself. Adding Manali or the deeper Kinnaur road needs five or more nights, not a rushed detour.
Late December to February gives the best chance of snow at the higher points around Kufri and Narkanda. This is deep winter, when snow is most likely to be lying on the ground. That said, snowfall is weather rather than a fixed event, so the exact days it falls cannot be predicted far ahead. A little date flexibility improves your chances of catching fresh snow.
No, fresh snowfall cannot be guaranteed on any specific date, because it depends entirely on the weather. Any operator promising guaranteed snowfall is not being honest with you. What we can do is plan your trip for the deep winter window, point you to where snow is most likely, and explain the difference between fresh snowfall and snow already lying on the ground. Flexible dates help.
Yes, most of our Shimla packages from Delhi run on an overnight AC semi sleeper Volvo, with a private cab for your sightseeing after you arrive. The coach leaves Delhi in the evening and reaches Shimla by morning, so you travel while you sleep and save a day. Volvo seats are allotted by the bus operator, and this is the budget friendly way to reach the hills.
It depends on your group and priorities. A private cab suits families, couples, and anyone visiting more than one place, since you control the timing and the halts and keep your luggage together. A Volvo package is more budget friendly and comfortable overnight, but runs to a fixed schedule. Families and honeymooners often prefer a private cab, while budget travellers and small groups find the Volvo model better value.
Yes, the Kalka to Shimla toy train can be built into your plan as your way of arriving, in place of the last road leg. It is a gentle heritage ride through tunnels and pine forest, and it needs early ticket planning as popular services fill quickly. Because it is slower than the road, we plan the day around it. Tell us if you want it and we will arrange the timing.
A standard package covers the town circuit and Kufri. That means the Ridge, Mall Road, Christ Church, Scandal Point, and Lakkar Bazaar on foot, usually Jakhu Temple by road or ropeway, and a Kufri day with the Green Valley viewpoint and Fagu. Mashobra, Naldehra, Chail, and Narkanda are added on longer trips. The exact stops are listed on each package page, since not every place sits in every itinerary.
Yes, Shimla is one of the easiest hill stations for families, with short drives, plenty to see in the town, and snow play at Kufri in winter. A private cab usually works best, since you can stop and rest as needed. We keep the pace relaxed and choose hotels with reasonable access. Tell us the ages in your group and we will plan a family friendly route around them.
Yes, with the right pacing. Shimla is a lower altitude hill station with short road days, which is kinder on older travellers, and a private cab keeps travel comfortable. The main thing to plan for is walking, since Mall Road and the Ridge are no vehicle zones and many hotels involve steps or a lift. Tell us if easy access matters and we will choose the stay and route accordingly.
Staying near Mall Road and the Ridge is best if you want cafes, shops, and evening walks at your doorstep. It puts you in the middle of the action, which suits couples and younger travellers. Keep in mind that this is a no vehicle zone, so reaching the hotel can involve steps, a lift, or a short walk. For easier access, a central hotel with closer vehicle reach is a practical choice.
Yes, Shimla is a classic honeymoon choice, with colonial charm, Mall Road evening walks, Kufri snow in winter, and quiet valley view stays. We offer dedicated Shimla honeymoon packages with private transfers, couple friendly hotels, and flexible sightseeing at a slower pace. Three to four nights on the ground is the sweet spot. See our Shimla honeymoon packages for stays and itineraries, and we will shape the pace around you.
Yes, and it is one of our most requested combinations, giving you two contrasting hill stations in one trip. Plan six to seven days so the drive between the two towns does not eat into your sightseeing. Trying to rush both in three or four days is where people usually go wrong. We run this as a Volvo package or a full private cab tour, from Delhi or Chandigarh.
Kufri, Mashobra, Naldehra, Chail, and Narkanda combine most easily, since they sit close to Shimla and add a day or two each. For a longer trip, Shimla pairs well with Manali, or with Kinnaur on the road that begins on this side. The rule of thumb is to let the geography guide the plan. Distant, high altitude regions need their own week rather than being bolted onto a short Shimla trip.
Most packages include return Volvo or a private cab as chosen, hotel stays for the listed nights, daily breakfast and dinner, a private cab for local sightseeing, and on trip support, with taxes included. Flights and trains, lunches, ropeway and entry tickets, Kufri activities, and room heater charges where billed separately usually sit outside. Inclusions vary between itineraries, so always check the specific package page and your confirmation.
Pack warm layers rather than one heavy jacket, so you can adjust through the day, along with thermals, gloves, a woollen cap, and comfortable non slip shoes for the slopes. Add sunscreen, sunglasses, and any personal medicines. Shimla nights are cold in winter, and Kufri and Narkanda can be colder still. If snow is likely, waterproof footwear helps a lot. We share a packing note with your booking.
Shimla can be visited in the monsoon, but it needs caution and flexibility. From roughly July to mid September, rain can bring delays and the occasional landslip on mountain roads. The town itself stays accessible, but travel to and from the hills can slow. Keep buffer days, stay open to route changes, and let us adjust the plan if conditions shift. Fixed, tight itineraries are the main thing to avoid.
Yes, every private Shimla trip can be shaped around your dates, hotel category, vehicle, and route. Tell us your travel month, days, budget, and preferred places, and we will build a realistic plan around them. You can add Chail, Narkanda, Mashobra, or a Manali extension, or slow the pace down. We will be honest about what fits your days and what would make the trip feel rushed.
Not always, so it is worth checking for your chosen stay. Some hotels include a room heater and some charge for it separately, and not every property has central heating. We tell you what to expect for the hotels in your package before you confirm. In winter, we factor heating into the stays we suggest, and you can ask us to prioritise a warmer property if that matters to you.
Shimla has a cosy cafe culture along Mall Road, with bun maska, hot chocolate, and hearty north Indian meals, alongside local Himachali dishes such as siddu, madra, and chha gosht where available. The cafes near the Ridge are a relaxed place to warm up on a cold evening. Most stays serve simple, fresh vegetarian food too, and we can note any dietary needs when you book.
