Yes, both are available and each has its own price. Chandigarh to Shimla is roughly 115 km and 3 to 4 hours, against 340 to 370 km and 8 to 10 hours from Delhi. On the way back, Manali to Chandigarh is roughly 310 km and 9 to 11 hours, against 500 to 550 km and 12 to 15 hours to Delhi. Chandigarh cuts several hours off both long days and costs less, which helps a lot with senior travellers or young children. Your Shimla and Manali stay and all the sightseeing stay the same.

Rohtang is an early start and a full day out. Keeping Manali town on its own day means you are not rushing through temples and Old Manali after a long mountain excursion. The three nights in Manali are what make this possible, and it is one of the main reasons people pick this package.

On the Delhi option, Day 1 is about 340 to 370 km and 8 to 10 hours, and Day 6 is the longest at about 500 to 550 km and 12 to 15 hours or more, so you reach late evening or night. On the Chandigarh option those become 3 to 4 hours and 9 to 11 hours. Day 3 from Shimla to Manali is about 240 to 260 km and 7 to 9 hours on both options.

No. Rohtang is seasonal and permit controlled. Access depends on the official opening, permit availability, the daily vehicle quota, weather, road conditions, administrative instructions, and local transport rules. The excursion is in your plan, but nobody can promise Rohtang before the permit is issued and the route is confirmed as safely running.

Yes, and it is worth doing. The Rohtang permit has a weekly maintenance day when the road is shut to tourist vehicles, and local rules can change. Your Rohtang day is Day 5, so your departure date decides where it lands. Ask our team while booking and we will help you pick a date that keeps Day 5 clear.

The full mountain day changes to Solang Valley, the Atal Tunnel, the North Portal, Sissu, and the Sissu lake or waterfall viewpoint if the road allows. If that Lahaul route is also shut, we may offer Solang Valley with Sethan, Hamta Valley, or the nearest reachable snow point, depending on permissions and safety. Either way you still get a full mountain day.

No refund applies just because the mountain route changes for permit, weather, safety, or administrative reasons, as long as the alternative full day excursion is operated. If neither Rohtang nor the alternative can be run at all, the unused and recoverable amount for that excursion is refunded. Your hotels, meals, cab, and other completed services are not part of that refund, and a permit or congestion charge already issued and non refundable may be deducted.

There is no refund if Rohtang is running and the arrangements are already made, but you choose not to go, report late, or cannot travel for personal reasons.

Yes. The package includes the standard authorised vehicle arrangement and the permit and congestion charges that apply at the time of your quotation. Any government increase brought in after your booking, or a premium vehicle upgrade, may be charged separately.

It depends on your group size and luggage. A sedan suits two or three adults, an Ertiga or similar suits four or five, an Innova or Innova Crysta suits four to six wanting more comfort, and a Tempo Traveller suits larger families and groups. A specific model such as Innova Crysta is confirmed only when it is written in your booking confirmation.

Sedan luggage space can be tight for four travellers, so please tell us your luggage in advance and we will size the vehicle properly. Seating capacity is not the same as comfortable touring capacity, especially on long hill drives.

Air conditioning is generally used on the plains and may stay switched off on steep mountain roads. This is normal practice for hill driving and helps the vehicle climb safely.

Yes, and it is part of the charm. Mall Road, The Ridge, and the area around Christ Church and Scandal Point are no vehicle zones, so your cab drops you at the nearest allowed point and you explore on foot. Many Shimla hotels also sit above or below the road and may need a short walk up steps. Tell us if anyone in your group needs an easier access hotel and we will plan for it.

No. At Kufri, vehicles stop at a set point and cannot drive up to Mahasu Peak. From there it is a pony ride or a walk of roughly 30 minutes each way, at your own cost. Pony rates are not fixed, so please agree the price clearly before you start.

The visit is part of the Day 2 plan. Jakhoo is a steep climb from The Ridge, so you can walk up or use the ropeway, and ropeway tickets are paid directly. Please watch your belongings there because of the monkeys.

Triple sharing usually means an extra mattress or rollaway bed rather than three proper beds, and family or interconnected rooms depend on what the hotel has free. Yes. 5 breakfasts and 5 dinners are included, so 10 meals in total. Meals start with dinner on Day 1 and end with breakfast on Day 6. Lunches, snacks, and drinks are paid separately.

The usual check in time is 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and check out is 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Early check in and late check out depend on availability and may cost extra. On Day 6 you leave early for the long drive, so if the restaurant is not open yet we request a packed breakfast, subject to hotel policy.

No. Snowfall and ground snow depend fully on the weather and time of year. Visiting Rohtang, Solang Valley, or Sissu does not mean there will be fresh snow or a set amount of it.

No. Skiing, snow scooters, ATV rides, paragliding, river rafting, ropeway tickets, and horse or yak rides are optional and paid directly. Snow clothes and boots are also not included, though they can usually be rented locally.
