Know Before You Go

  • This is a shared group tour. You will share the vehicle and accommodation with other travellers in the same batch
  • This is a late-September departure (19 to 24 September 2026), a beautiful shoulder-season window in Ladakh with crisp clear skies, golden light over Nubra and Pangong, and thinner crowds than peak summer. Days stay pleasant while nights fall close to freezing, so pack proper warm layers
  • Triple sharing is the standard room arrangement and is included in the base price. Couples or travellers wanting more space can upgrade to double sharing at Rs 2,000 extra per person
  • Solo travellers choosing triple sharing may be paired with other travellers of the same gender, subject to rooming availability. Couples and travellers wanting a private room should choose double sharing
  • Transport is on a shared basis. A specific vehicle model, number of vehicles or seating layout cannot be guaranteed for the shared group departure. A Private SUV or Premium SUV can be arranged on request at an additional cost, on enquiry
  • This departure requires a minimum of 10 paid travellers. Final departure confirmation is communicated no later than 9 September 2026. If the minimum is not reached, you may choose a full refund or transfer your payment to another suitable Travel Coffee trip
  • Leh Airport pickup and drop are included at fixed group transfer slots based on common flight timings, not as individual pickups. Exact slots are shared before departure. Guests arriving substantially earlier or later may wait for the scheduled group transfer or arrange a private transfer at an additional cost
  • This is a Leh Airport to Leh Airport package. Flights to and from Leh are not included
  • Pack light: carry one soft duffel bag or backpack plus one small daypack. Avoid large hard-shell suitcases as luggage space is limited in shared Ladakh vehicles
  • Leh sits at 11,500 ft. The first day is reserved for complete acclimatisation. Do not skip it and avoid any physical exertion on arrival day
  • Please disclose any relevant medical condition before booking. If you have an existing heart, lung, blood pressure or respiratory condition, consult your doctor before visiting Ladakh. Basic oxygen support and first aid may be carried for emergencies, but this does not replace professional medical care
  • Stay hydrated throughout the trip. Aim for 3 to 4 litres of water daily and avoid alcohol completely in the first 48 hours
  • Carry warm layers even in summer. Nights at Pangong and Nubra can drop to near freezing temperatures regardless of the season
  • Mobile network works in Leh town (Jio and Airtel postpaid). Signal is limited or absent at Nubra, Pangong, and en route to the passes. ATMs are only in Leh, so carry sufficient cash
  • Pack sunscreen SPF 50+, UV protective sunglasses, lip balm, and heavy moisturiser. The sun at altitude is intense and deceptive
  • If accommodation near Pangong is unavailable due to weather, road conditions or seasonal closure, the stay may shift to Tangtse, Durbuk or another suitable nearby location, without removing Pangong sightseeing from the itinerary

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from your private Ladakh tours?

This is a shared group tour with shared transport, triple sharing rooms and fixed departure dates. It is the most accessible way to experience Ladakh with Travel Coffee. Private tours give you your own vehicle, double sharing, flexible dates and a more personalised pace at a higher price.

What is the group size on this tour?

Each departure runs with a curated group of 10 to 14 travellers, with an ideal operating size of around 12. Transport is shared, in locally registered SUV/MUV vehicles or a Tempo Traveller depending on the final group size, luggage and road conditions. This is smaller than most operators, which means more personal attention.

What if the departure does not reach minimum numbers?

A minimum of 10 paid travellers is required to operate this departure. Final confirmation is communicated no later than 9 September 2026. If the minimum is not reached, you may choose a full refund or transfer your payment to another suitable Travel Coffee trip.

Can I upgrade from triple sharing to double sharing?

Yes. Triple sharing is included in the base price. Double sharing is available at Rs 2,000 extra per person and is ideal for couples or travellers who want more space. Let the team know at the time of booking.

Is quad sharing available?

Quad sharing may be available on request only for a pre-formed family or group of four, subject to a suitable family room or cottage being available at every destination. Four unrelated solo travellers will not be placed together in one room, and quad sharing is not offered as a fixed public price.

Can I get a private vehicle instead of shared transport?

This is a shared group departure. If you would prefer a Private SUV (Xylo, Scorpio, Ertiga, Innova or similar) or a Premium SUV (Innova Crysta, Scorpio N or equivalent), we can arrange it on request at an additional cost. Share your dates with the team for a quote. The exact model is subject to local availability.

Are flights included?

No. This is a Leh Airport (IXL) to Leh Airport package and flights to and from Leh are not included. We can help you arrange them on request.

Can I book this for a group of friends?

Yes. Groups of four or more get priority on room sharing preferences so you stay together. Larger groups can also request a custom departure date outside the fixed schedule.

Why is the first day only for acclimatisation?

Leh sits at 11,500 ft and your body needs time to adjust to the altitude and lower oxygen levels. Skipping acclimatisation or rushing into activity on arrival day increases the risk of altitude sickness. The evening still includes a group meet, health check-in and trip briefing, so the day is meaningful.

How cold does it get at Pangong and Nubra even in summer?

Daytime temperatures feel pleasant, around 15 to 20 degrees. But nights drop sharply, often reaching near freezing or below zero. Carry thermals, a windproof jacket, warm socks and proper layering. The trip captain will remind the group before each overnight location.

What about mobile network and ATM access?

Jio and Airtel postpaid SIMs work in Leh town. Outside Leh, including Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake and the high passes, network is extremely limited or completely absent. ATMs are only in Leh, so carry enough cash before you leave the city.

Do you provide oxygen support?

Basic oxygen support and a first aid kit are carried in the vehicle for emergencies, and the trip captain keeps an eye on the group at altitude. This is emergency support only and does not replace professional medical care. Please disclose any medical condition before booking and consult your doctor if you have a heart, lung, blood pressure or respiratory condition.

How are airport transfers handled in a group tour?

Leh Airport pickup and drop are included at fixed group transfer slots aligned with common flight arrival and departure times. These are not individual pickups. Exact slot timings are shared before your travel date so you can plan your flights accordingly.
