Your Trip in a Nutshell
- Duration
- 4 Nights / 5 Days
- Stay
- Manali (2N, Standard hotel) • Overnight Volvo (2N)
- Meals
- 2 breakfasts (Day 3 and Day 4) and 2 dinners (Day 2 and Day 3), 4 meals in total
- Main Highlight
- A short, well planned Manali holiday with two hotel nights, private sightseeing for your own group, one full day out to Solang Valley and seasonal Rohtang Pass, and a departure day that covers Naggar and Kullu on the way down to your Volvo boarding point
- Best Season
- Rohtang is usually reachable once the authorities open the road and until snowfall makes it unsafe. There are no fixed opening or closing dates, so the alternative Lahaul route is planned for the rest of the year
- Ideal For
- Couples, families, and friends who want a short Manali holiday with private sightseeing, good value, and no wasted hours on the last day
Know Before You Go
- Your sightseeing in Manali is private for the people on your booking. Only the overnight Volvo is a shared service with other passengers
- The vehicle is assigned based on your group size, the route, road conditions, and what is available, so the exact model is not fixed. It covers the places in the itinerary, including the Day 4 route up to your drop at the boarding point, and is not at your disposal beyond that. Air conditioning may not work in the hills
- Day 4 is built around your bus timing. After check out your bags go into the cab and stay with you, you get free time around Mall Road and Old Manali, and the same cab then takes you down through Naggar and Kullu before your drop at the boarding point
- The Day 4 stops are planned backwards from your Volvo departure time. If your bus boards early in the evening, we start the drive down sooner or leave out one stop instead of rushing the day. If you would rather stay in Manali all day, tell your driver in the morning and we simply drop you at the boarding point at the right time, with no refund for the skipped route
- Your Day 4 drop is at the boarding point written on your ticket. When the bus boards in Manali, we plan the day so that you are back up in time. When it boards at Kullu or Bhuntar, we drop you there directly, which saves you the drive back up the valley
- Naggar Castle is usually open every day. The Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery follows its own opening hours, weekly closure, and public holidays, and is normally shut on Mondays. If it is closed, the time is used at another Naggar spot
- River rafting on the Beas near Babeli or Pirdi is optional and paid directly. The Kullu administration suspends rafting every year through the monsoon, usually from 15 July to 15 September, and it is generally not run in peak winter when the water is low and very cold
- If you want rafting, please tell us in advance. It takes up most of the Day 4 afternoon, so your free morning in Manali has to be kept shorter
- Shawl, handicraft, and local product stops on the way down are completely optional, with no obligation to buy anything
- Reach your boarding point at least 30 minutes before departure. If you are late and miss the Volvo, arranging other travel is not included
- Volvo seats are allotted by the bus operator. Seats next to each other are subject to availability unless confirmed in writing, and timings can change with traffic, weather, and road conditions
- Rohtang Pass is seasonal and controlled by the authorities. Having it in the package name does not mean access is possible on every date. It can be shut for official closure, permit limits, the daily vehicle quota, unsafe weather, snow or ice, landslides, vehicle restrictions, traffic control, or administrative orders
- If Rohtang is not possible, we offer the best option available that day, usually Solang Valley, the Atal Tunnel, Sissu, and a point towards Koksar or Lahaul. Koksar depends on the road, traffic, time, and permissions. If it is not reachable, the day may end at Sissu or the nearest point open to tourists
- If the Atal Tunnel and Lahaul route are also shut, we may offer Sethan, Hamta Valley, Solang Valley, or the nearest reachable snow point. The option is always discussed with you before sightseeing begins
- Rohtang Pass and the Atal Tunnel with Sissu and Koksar route are two different options. They are not covered together in one package
- If you accept the alternative and it is completed, no separate Rohtang refund applies. If you do not take the alternative, or it cannot be run, the refundable Rohtang amount in your booking confirmation is refunded. A government permit fee already paid and not recoverable may not be part of the refund
- If the Rohtang trip starts and is then stopped by a closure or an official order, any refund covers only the unused and recoverable part. There is no refund if Rohtang is running and you choose not to go, report late, or skip it for personal reasons
- Fresh snowfall and snow cannot be promised at Rohtang, Solang Valley, the Atal Tunnel, Sissu, or Koksar. Adventure activities are run by local operators, so do check their safety setup and the weather before you take part
- The usual hotel check in time is 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and check out is 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. If your room is not ready on arrival, you can leave your bags and freshen up in the common facilities, then start sightseeing
- A mountain view, balcony, room heater, lift, or a Mall Road location is not promised unless it is written in your hotel confirmation. The exact hotel name and room type are shared before your booking is confirmed, and breakfast and dinner may be a buffet or a fixed menu based on hotel policy
- Parts of Manali are walking only zones or have vehicle restrictions. Your driver drops you at the nearest allowed point and a short walk may be needed. The driver helps with the route but is not a tour guide
- Rohtang is high up. If you have heart, breathing, or other health concerns, check with your doctor before you travel
- Carry a valid government photo ID for every traveller, as hotels, transport operators, and the authorities may ask for it
- Carry warm layers, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, personal medicines, and a reusable water bottle. Keep your valuables and documents with you
- The price can change with your travel date, boarding point, number of travellers, room needs, hotel availability, and transport cost. The final price is always confirmed before payment
- The price shown is per person and is the same for adults and children. If you are travelling with a young child who may not need a separate Volvo seat or an extra bed, share their age when you ask for a quote and we will confirm the final amount
- Keep a good time gap before booking an onward flight or train, as arrival times can change with traffic, weather, and road conditions
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the package include four hotel nights?
No. The four nights are two hotel nights in Manali and two overnight journeys on the Volvo. So you get two full days in Manali without spending extra leave on travel.
Will we have a vehicle on the last day after check out?
Yes. Your cab stays with you on Day 4 from check out until your drop at the boarding point, and your bags travel in the vehicle. You do not have to return to the hotel or leave luggage at reception. The cab is not at your disposal after the drop.
What exactly happens on Day 4 before the night bus?
After breakfast and check out, the cab drops you around Mall Road and Old Manali for a couple of free hours at your own pace. It then picks you up and takes the road down the valley, usually covering Naggar Castle and Naggar village, the Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery when it is open, and Kullu, before dropping you at your Volvo boarding point in the evening.
Where will we be dropped for the return Volvo?
At the boarding point written on your ticket. If your bus boards in Manali, we plan the day so that you are back up in time. If it boards at Kullu or Bhuntar, we drop you there directly, which saves you the drive back up the valley.
What if our bus leaves early in the evening?
We plan the Day 4 stops backwards from your departure time. If the timing is tight, we either start the drive down earlier or leave out one stop rather than rush you through everything.
Can we skip Naggar and Kullu and stay in Manali instead?
Yes. Some guests prefer a slower day in Manali. Tell your driver in the morning and the cab keeps your bags and drops you at the boarding point at the right time. No refund applies for the skipped route.
Is river rafting included?
No. Rafting on the Beas near Babeli or Pirdi is optional and paid directly, and it runs only when the season allows and the administration permits it. The Kullu administration suspends rafting through the monsoon, usually from 15 July to 15 September, and it is generally not run in peak winter. Please ask for it in advance, since it takes up most of the Day 4 afternoon and your free morning then has to be kept shorter.
Is the Roerich Art Gallery always open?
No. It follows its own opening hours, weekly closure, and public holidays, and is normally shut on Mondays. If it is closed, the time is used at another Naggar spot. Entry tickets at Naggar Castle and the gallery are paid directly.
Is the sightseeing shared with other travellers?
No. Your sightseeing in Manali is private for the people on your booking, and your cab is not shared with anyone outside it. Only the overnight Volvo is a shared service, since it is a scheduled coach with other passengers.
Which vehicle will be provided for sightseeing?
A private vehicle sized for your group, based on the route, road conditions, and availability. The exact model is confirmed closer to your travel date. It covers the places in the itinerary, including the Day 4 route up to your drop at the boarding point, and is not at your disposal beyond that. Air conditioning may not work in the hills.
Is visiting Rohtang Pass guaranteed?
No. Rohtang is a seasonal and controlled destination. Access depends on official opening, permit availability, the daily vehicle quota, weather, road conditions, vehicle permissions, and administrative orders. Having it in the package name does not mean it is possible on every date, so we prefer to be upfront about this.
What happens if Rohtang Pass is closed?
We offer the best option available that day. The usual alternative is Solang Valley, the Atal Tunnel, Sissu, and a point towards Koksar or Lahaul. Koksar depends on the road, traffic, time, and permissions. If it is not reachable, the day may end at Sissu or the nearest point open to tourists. The plan is always discussed with you before sightseeing begins.
Can Sethan or Hamta Valley be offered instead?
Yes. If Rohtang and the Atal Tunnel with Lahaul route are both unavailable, we may offer Sethan, Hamta Valley, Solang Valley, or the nearest reachable snow point. The final choice depends on safety and road access on the day.
Can we do Rohtang Pass and the Atal Tunnel with Sissu and Koksar together?
No. These are two different options, not one combined plan. Rohtang is the main excursion when it is open, and the Atal Tunnel with Sissu and Koksar is the alternative when Rohtang is not available.
Can we choose a refund instead of the alternative sightseeing?
Yes. If Rohtang is not available and you do not take the alternative we offer, the refundable Rohtang sightseeing amount shown in your booking confirmation is refunded. If a government permit fee has already been paid and cannot be recovered, that part may not be included in the refund.
Will we get a Rohtang refund after taking the alternative sightseeing?
No. If you accept the alternative and it is completed, no separate Rohtang refund applies. There is also no refund if Rohtang is running normally and you choose not to go, report late, or skip it for personal reasons.
What if the Rohtang trip starts and is then stopped?
If the excursion begins and is later stopped because of an unexpected closure or an official restriction, any refund covers only the unused and recoverable part of the sightseeing service.
Is snowfall guaranteed?
No. Fresh snowfall and snow cannot be promised at Rohtang, Solang Valley, the Atal Tunnel, Sissu, or Koksar. It depends fully on the season and the weather at that time.
Are snow clothes and adventure activities included?
No. Snow clothes, boots, skiing, paragliding, ropeway rides, snow scooters, ATVs, rafting, and similar activities are optional and paid directly. They are run by local operators, so please check their safety setup and the weather before you take part.
Which hotel will we get?
A quality checked Standard hotel, usually a comfortable 2 star or 3 star property. The exact hotel name, location, and room type are shared before your booking is confirmed. A Mall Road location, mountain view, balcony, room heater, or lift is not promised unless it is written in your hotel confirmation.
Are breakfast and dinner included?
Yes. 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners are included at the hotel, so 4 meals in total. Breakfast on the morning you arrive in Manali is not included. Meals may be a buffet or a fixed menu based on hotel occupancy and policy.
Is early check in included?
No. Standard check in is usually 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and check out is 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Early check in and late check out depend on room availability and may cost extra. If your room is not ready when you arrive, you can leave your bags and freshen up in the common facilities.
Can I start from Chandigarh instead of Delhi?
Yes. Delhi to Delhi and Chandigarh to Chandigarh are both available, and one way boarding or drop options can be chosen at booking. Your exact boarding point, drop point, and timings depend on the option you select, while the Manali stay and sightseeing plan stay the same.
Where does the Volvo depart from and are adjacent seats guaranteed?
The exact boarding point depends on your city and the confirmed operator. The final location, reporting time, seat details, and contact information are shared before departure. Seats next to each other depend on the operator's allocation and availability unless confirmed in writing.
How is the price calculated for children?
The price shown is per person and is the same for adults and children. If you are travelling with a young child who may not need a separate Volvo seat or an extra bed, share their age when you ask for a quote and we will confirm the final amount before payment.
Can the package price change?
Yes. The price can vary with your travel date, boarding option, hotel availability, transport fare, number of travellers, and room needs. The final price is always confirmed before payment.
Do we need identity documents?
Yes. Every traveller should carry a valid government issued photo ID for hotel check in, transport verification, and permits.
When is the booking confirmed?
Your booking is confirmed only after the required payment is received and the hotel, transport, and sightseeing arrangements are confirmed in writing.
