Udaipur was the seat of the Mewar kings for four centuries, and your first evening shows you why. Head to Lake Pichola late afternoon for the boat ride, the City Palace rising off the water and Jag Mandir out on its own island. An island stop is only included if your voucher lists it. A short walk on, Bagore Ki Haveli puts on the Dharohar show, an hour of folk dance and puppetry. Dinner is yours on a rooftop nearby. Aim to be in Udaipur by 2 pm so none of it feels rushed.

Flexible attraction tickets such as City Palace, Sajjangarh, Kumbhalgarh Fort and Ranakpur visitor services stay separate, so you pay only for what you enter. We can arrange eligible tickets before travel or assist with eligible same day bookings at the official price plus any disclosed charge, or you can buy standard tickets at the venue counter. Same day help depends on availability and venue rules, so limited seat, fixed time or sold out experiences cannot be guaranteed on the day
- The Kumbhalgarh road is a winding hill drive for the last stretch. The full excursion day involves 5 to 6 hours of driving, which is why we start at 8 am and why this tour has 3 nights, not 2
- Ranakpur temple opens to non Jain visitors from around 12 noon to 5 pm. Our routing does the fort first for exactly this reason. Ranakpur visitor rules, timings and any applicable foreign national, camera or audio guide charges are reconfirmed before travel
- Leather items including belts, wallets and bags are not allowed inside Ranakpur temple. Leave them in the cab, lockers are also available at the entrance
- Phone use is restricted inside the main Ranakpur temple and photography is allowed only during fixed hours
- Kumbhalgarh involves a fair amount of uphill walking to reach Badal Mahal at the top. Wear comfortable shoes and carry water, shops inside are limited
- The Kumbhalgarh light and sound show runs in the evening. If you want to stay for it we can rework the day, though you will return to Udaipur late
- Bagore Ki Haveli show seats are limited in season. We pre book your tickets, reach 15 minutes early for good seats
- Activities are subject to weather, water levels, operating schedules, ticket availability and local authority instructions. If an included activity cannot operate, we will first try to reschedule it within your trip. If that is not possible, the applicable activity component will be refunded or adjusted with your approval. Tickets already issued may be non-refundable under the supplier's policy
- April to June afternoons cross 40 degrees. If you travel in summer, we start the excursion day even earlier and shift city sightseeing to mornings and evenings

Is this a group tour or a private tour?
This is a private tour with your own cab and driver, no sharing of your vehicle and no fixed departure dates, so you can start on any day that works for you. The general sightseeing flow can be adjusted around your preferences, while pre booked activities, attraction timings, temple timings and venue operating hours stay fixed. Do note that the boat ride and the folk show are shared experiences alongside other visitors.
How is this different from the standard Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur package?

Why 3 nights and not 2 for this route?
Kumbhalgarh is a two hour drive each way on a winding road. Some operators squeeze the excursion into a 2 night trip, which means spending the whole middle day in the car and skipping half of Udaipur. Three nights lets you do the city properly and the excursion properly. That is the honest answer.
Can we visit Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur on the same day?
Yes, and this itinerary is built exactly for it. The two are 35 km apart. We do the fort in the morning because Ranakpur temple only opens to non Jain visitors from around noon. Fort first, temple after lunch, back in Udaipur by evening.
Is the Lake Pichola boat ride really included in the price?
Yes, and so is the Bagore Ki Haveli show. Most operators sell both as extras at the counter. We include them because they are the two things nobody should miss in Udaipur.
What should we wear for the Ranakpur temple?
Modest clothing covering shoulders and knees. Leather items are not allowed inside, leave belts and wallets in the cab or use the lockers at the entrance. The temple provides wraps if needed.
Is the excursion day too tiring for kids or parents?
It is a long day but a manageable one, 5 to 6 hours of driving split into three comfortable stretches with two long stops. The fort involves uphill walking, which can be taken slowly. Tell us your group and we will pace the day to suit it.
Can we stay overnight in Kumbhalgarh instead of returning to Udaipur?
Yes, that is a popular variation. One night near the fort lets you catch the evening light and sound show without a late drive back. Ask us and we will rework the plan and share the revised price.
What if we want to skip the forts and keep it a relaxed Udaipur trip?
Tell us at the time of booking and we will swap the excursion day for a slow Udaipur day with Shilpgram, the Ahar Cenotaphs and cafe time, at a lower price. The itinerary is yours to shape.

What is the best time to do this trip?
October to March has pleasant days, cool evenings and the best light on the fort walls. July to September is the quiet green season, the Aravallis around Kumbhalgarh are at their best after rain, just build in a small buffer for slow hill driving on wet days.
