- All travellers must carry original government ID. Aadhaar is strongly recommended for Indian nationals. Foreign nationals may need separate permissions and may not be allowed on all border sections
- Photography near military posts, security areas, and restricted zones is strictly prohibited
- Nako and Upper Kinnaur are remote. Stays are clean and comfortable but these are mountain properties, not city hotels
